Man taken to The MED following assault, robbery at motel | Crime
A Sikeston man was airlifted to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center after police say he was attacked and robbed at a Caruthersville motel.
According to City Marshall Tony Jones, just after noon on Sunday, August 12, Caruthersville police officers were called to Room 108 at the Economy Inn.
The victim, a 41-year-old man, told officers three men robbed him then assaulted him. The man was taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital then airlifted to The MED in Memphis with severe head injuries.
Upon further investigation, officers arrested three men and took them to the Pemiscot County Jail where at last report they were being held pending the filing of formal charges of:
- Robbery-First Degree
- Assault-First Degree
- Armed Criminal Action
- Theft/Stealing (Value of property or service less than $500)-First Degree
- Receiving Stolen Property (Value less than $500)
