Man found "severely beaten" on railroad tracks | Crime
A Steele man found beaten on the railroad tracks is in the hospital and the man police say attacked him is in jail.
According to Chief of Police Billy Joe Stanfield, on Sunday officers found a 50-year-old man lying on the railroad tracks.
Stanfield says the man had been "severely beaten" and was bleeding profusely from a large cut to his head. The victim was taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Following their investigation, officers arrested 22-year-old Hank Crawford, also of Steele, and charged him with first-degree assault.
Crawford is being held at the Pemiscot County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
