Teen arrested after mom finds him hiding behind daughter's bed

A 17-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a Caruthersville woman found him hiding in her daughter’s bedroom.

According to City Marshall Tony Jones, the woman told police she woke up around midnight and found her daughter’s bedroom door locked.

Once she got inside, the woman said she found Jamal Johnson hiding behind her daughter’s bed.

Officers arrested Johnson on a trespassing charge.  They took him to the Pemiscot County Jail where he was later released after posting a $129 cash bond.

In an unrelated case, at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, Caruthersville police officers and U.S. Marshals executed a federal warrant for a state violation against 29-year-old Brian Battles of Caruthersville.

At last report, Battles is locked up in the Pemiscot County Jail awaiting an appearance in federal court.
