Man shot in stomach, police investigating | Crime
Sikeston police are investigating a shooting that left one man wounded.
Around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety (DPS) received several calls of shots fired in the 1400-block of West Murray Lane.
When officers arrived at the scene they found a 34-year-old man had been shot in the stomach. The man had been taken to the hospital before officers arrived. At last report, the man was in serious condition and undergoing surgery.
According to Lt. Jim McMillen, detectives processed the crime scene and interviewed several witnesses. Investigators learned the shooting stemmed from an earlier disturbance.
