A Bootheel Missouri man is scheduled to appear in court Monday on kidnapping charges.
According to Hayti Police Chief Paul Sheckell, just before 12:30 Saturday morning officers were dispatched to the 1700-block of County Road 266.
When officers arrived at the scene they found the victim in a ditch. Chief Sheckell said the victim had escaped their captor, later identified as 31-year-old Derrick Luster.
At 5 p.m. that afternoon, Luster turned himself in to the Hayti Police Department.
He’s being held without bond in the Pemiscot County Justice Center awaiting an appearance in Pemiscot County Division II Court where he will face additional charges.
