Got drugs? Turn them in at the sheriff's office

The Dunklin County Sheriff's Office is joining forces with the Drug Enforcement Agency to get unwanted drugs off our streets.

On Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. drop off your unused and unwanted prescription drugs at the Dunklin County Justice Center, 1175 Floyd St. in Kennett.

The service is free and anonymous.  No questions asked!

A similar drug take back was conducted nationwide last October.  More than 377,080 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in across the United States.  That's 188.5 tons!

According to the sheriff's office, getting unwanted drugs out of your home helps reduce pill abuse and theft.

Other law enforcement agencies will also be taking back drugs on April 28.  Check with your local police or sheriff's office to see where and when you can drop off your unwanted pills.
