Bootheel couple wins $2 million in lotto drawing | Families
When Amanda Richardson and Michael Magarian’s baby is born, they will have plenty of cash on hand to spoil it and themselves.
On Monday morning, the Dexter parents-to-be picked up a check for $2 million from the Missouri Lottery.
The couple won it after matching all six Missouri Lotto numbers drawn on June 5.
Richardson, 20, said it felt “like a dream” when she and Magarian, 45, realized they’d won the big money.
“We were just so excited,” Richardson said. “I told him that we won and he didn’t believe me. We had to look it over about three times.”
The couple says they play Lotto twice a week at On the Go, located at 402 E. Business Highway 60 in Dexter.
Magarian bought three tickets at the store: one for his mother, one for himself and one for Richardson.
In addition to paying bills, preparing for their wedding and donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the couple says they plan to take a vacation to Walt Disney World.
