Woman killed in head-on collision

A Bootheel Missouri woman died Wednesday in a head-on collision.

The crash happened at 4:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 412, two miles east of Cardwell.

Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say 35-year-old Julie S. Moser of Senath was traveling eastbound when her 2002 Oldsmobile crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2008 Pontiac driven by 70-year-old Sharon G. Edgin of Bernie.

Moser was pronounced dead at the scene by Dunklin County Coroner James Powell.

Edgin was taken by ambulance to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

According to the crash report, Edgin was wearing a seatbelt.  It was "unknown" if Moser was wearing a safety device.
