LUXORA, AR (KFVS & KAIT) -

One of two escaped inmates from Mississippi County have been captured.

U-S Marshal Bob Clark tells Region 8 News that John Laxton was caught around 8:00 p.m. Friday by Colorado State Police in Johnstown, Colorado. That is near the Wyoming state line.

Marshal Clark says a female acquaintance of Laxton was also arrested. She will be charged with aiding and abetting.

A second man was in the car, but right now police aren't sure if it is the other escapee Danny Rankin.

John Laxton, 42, and Danny Rankin, 46, were working on a job site in Blytheville, Arkansas. When an officer went to pick them up Wednesday night, they were not there around 8 p.m., according to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department in Arkansas.

Investigators in Mississippi County, Arkansas believe the two were picked up by a woman driving a green Kia. The two are believed to have been sighted in Holcomb, Missouri Thursday morning. Investigators believe the two are traveling together.

Laxton was in custody for theft of property. Rankin was in custody for manufacturing, delivery of a controlled substance.

Laxton is described as a white male, 5'4", 164 lbs., with brown eyes. Rankin is described as a white male, 5'7", 160 lbs., with hazel eyes and brown hair.
