Woman seriously injured when car flips over | News

A woman was seriously injured when her car slammed into a culvert and flipped over.

The crash happened at 5 p.m. Monday on Highway M, seven miles from Poplar Bluff.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper E. J. Ganime reported 23-year-old Michelle L. Wallace of Poplar Bluff was eastbound when her Toyota Solar ran off the right side of the road.  Wallace apparently overcorrected.  Her car then struck a culvert and overturned.

Wallace, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries.  She was taken by helicopter to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

According to Trooper Ganime, the car was totaled.
