A crash Thursday night involving three vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, sent two people to the hospital.
Just before 9 p.m. a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer responded to a crash on Missouri 25, two miles north of Bloomfield in Stoddard County.
According to Trooper R. D. Owen’s crash report, 55-year-old Jerry W. Smith of Dexter was slowing to make a right turn when a 2002 Ford Excursion driven by 43-year-old Cornelius V. Miles of Advance struck the rear of Smith’s 1999 Freightliner Conventional tractor.
The truck then crossed the centerline and struck head-on a 2002 GMC Yukon driven by 64-year-old Mary L. Smith of Bloomfield. Her SUV was totaled.
Jerry Smith suffered minor injuries. Mary Smith received moderate injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
