Pedestrian hit by car hospitalized

A Bootheel Missouri man was hospitalized when he was hit by a car Sunday afternoon.

It happened at 5:20 p.m. on Route M, three miles south of Holland.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jason W. Totts, 37, of Steele was walking on the side of road when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by Robert J. Harvel, 48, of Jonesboro, IL.

Totts was taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville with serious injuries.
