Mom, daughter split $250,000 lottery win

For years Tina Wrzesinski and her mother, Odessa Chanley, have been buying Missouri Lottery tickets together.

Recently their partnership paid off.

The two Bootheel Missouri women won $250,000 playing Mega Millions.

They bought their winning Quick Pick ticket at Gas-A-Mat, 613 E. Washington St., in East Prairie.

According to a prepared statement from the Missouri Lottery, news of the winning ticket sold in the area led to the winners finding out.

Chanley said her sister called and told her to check her ticket because someone had bought a winning ticket at the convenience store.

She remembered saying, “It’s probably not mine, but I’ll check it anyway.”

The two women traveled to St. Louis last week to pick up their winnings.  Both women say they’ll use the money to pay off bills.

They also say they will continue their lottery “partnership.”
