Woman seriously injured in crash | News
A Region 8 woman was seriously injured Thursday morning in a single-car crash.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 172 at Highway W in Wayne County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Nassra Aboukassem, 29, of Clarkton was southbound when her 2007 Chevy Malibu ran off the right side of the road. She apparently overcorrected and her car slid off the left side of the road and overturned.
Aboukassem was thrown from the vehicle. Investigators say she was not wearing a seat belt.
The Dunklin County woman was airlifted to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau in serious condition.
